SharePoint Resources Development Fundamentals Class

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • "I need you to move the files on the network drive to the SharePoint site."
  • "We need to have the data in the database available to people when they are in the SharePoint site."
  • "I need a new list on every site.  I need it on the left side of the page and it needs to have the data already in the database in the respective new lists."

While all these type of tasks can be performed using the SharePoint web interface, when a large number of changes need to be applied, writing code is often the better direction.

The SharePoint Resources Development Fundamentals Class will present:

  • SharePoint 2007 (limited or no SharePoint 2003):
  • SharePoint Object Model/API - definition and examples
  • Utility functions using the SharePoint Object Model - programmatically manipulating SharePoint
  • Web parts - Design, coding and implementation
  • Features - what they are and how to use them
  • Content types - THE tips and tricks functionality you have to understand
  • Site definitions - programming the look and feel of SharePoint
  • Web services - how to use them
  • Security - code access security explained
  • Events - how to add events to make your job easier
  • Administration - incorporating the necessary functionality in your code
